Senator Lindsey Graham delivered a rousing speech Friday night at Mar-a-Lago, joking about the prospect of President Donald Trump opening a hotel in Jerusalem and asking the crowd if they’d like to see former Representative Trey Gowdy on the Supreme Court.

The president, alongside First Lady Melania Trump, introduced Graham, the keynote speaker at the Palm Beach County Republican Dinner.

“If Lindsey’s speaking, I want to come down here, for two reasons,” Trump said. “No. 1: He’s a great speaker. And No. 2: I know if I’m here, he’s not going to say anything bad about me.”

With Trump looking on, Graham praised the president for the booming economy, the elimination of Islamic State strongholds in Syria and his decision to move the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

The attendees were served a multi-course meal. The event’s dessert plate — chocolate mousse with a picture of Abraham Lincoln wearing a “Keep America Great” hat. Tickets for the fundraiser started at $375, with sponsorship packages going as high as $25,000.

None of the speakers at the event addressed Friday’s long-awaited news that Special Counsel Robert Mueller completed his report into Russian meddling in the U.S. election.

Trump has also yet to comment on the report that Mueller has submitted to Attorney General William Barr, which he is expected to summarize in a report to Congress by Sunday.
