Former Trump Inaugural Fundraiser Elliott Broidy Investigated By New York Prosecutors

Federal prosecutors in New York announced Monday they are investigating Elliott Broidy, a former top Republican fundraiser who was involved with President Donald Trumps inauguration.

For at least one year, prosecutors have been seeking to determine whether Broidy, a Los Angeles private investor, attempted to illegally profit from his role a fundraiser for Trump’s inauguration.

The U.S. attorney’s office for the Eastern District of New York subpoenaed Trump’s inaugural committee in April for documents pertaining to Broidy, firms linked to him and foreign contacts of his.

George Nadera major witness in Robert Mueller‘s Russia probe, also has ties to Broidy. Nader was charged with child pornography possession last month.

Broidy also previously worked as deputy finance chairman of the Republican National Committee until April 2018. He resigned at that time after reports surfaced that he had paid $1.6 million a former Playboy model who accused him of impregnating her. Broidy did not deny his connection to the woman.

Broidy also recently claimed he was hacked after some of his private emails were leaked by the press.

Trump’s 2017 inauguration has already been probed for several reasons related to its financing and the foreign donors invited to the event.
