Trump Wants To Hire Fox News Host Judge Jeanine Pirro For Top Administration Job

It is well known that President Donald Trump has a preference for Fox News, and that he has even hired many people who have appeared on the conservative network as commentators or contributors.

Trump Tapped Fox News’ Jeanine Pirro For Top Administration Role

Add one more name to that list: Judge Jeanine Pirro. The host of Justice With Judge Jeanine — and author of the upcoming book Lies, Leakers, and Liberals — was considered by Trump for a top position in his administration, according to several reports on Thursday, and that she was also interested in a top government job.

According to PoliticoPirro — who has slammed critics of the president and supported his main allies — has “repeatedly told Trump’s aides and advisers over the past 18 months” that she wants to become Attorney General.

Trump has grown increasingly angry at current Attorney General Jeff Sessionsespecially because of his March 2017 recusal from special counsel Robert Mueller‘s Russia investigation. The president has said multiple times he regrets hiring Sessions, and reportedly refuses to refer to the former Alabama Senator by name in the West Wing of the White House.

Politico added that two White House officials stated they doubt Trump was “seriously considering” hiring Pirro to replace Sessions.

New York Magazine reported that Trump was allegedly hoping to appoint Pirro — a former Westchester County Court Judge in New York — as a judge on the Supreme Court. Pirro was the Republican nominee for attorney general in New York in 2006, but lost to the state’s current governor Andrew Cuomo.

Pirro once insisted early last year that House Speaker Paul Ryan should resign because he failed to help GOP lawmakers pass the healthcare bill that was intended to replace Obamacare.

Among the other Fox News commentators or frequent guests Trump has hired are National Security Adviser John Bolton — the former U.N. ambassador under George W. Bush — State Department official Heather Nauert, communications adviser Mercedes Schlapp and Treasury Department spokesman Tony Sayegh.

The president also brought on veteran conservative CNBC contributor Larry Kudlow earlier this year to become his top economic adviser to replace Gary Cohn.

Politico also reported that Trump and Pirro often speak on the phone, as the president is an avid viewer of her show. It was recently revealed that Trump also frequently speaks with another Fox News host, Sean Hannityon most weeknights.
