CNN journalist Kate Bennett has written a biography of First Lady Melania Trump. The book Free, Melania: The Unauthorized Biography, depicts the president’s wife as a reticent person but one having a mind of her own.

The author says that the first lady’s nature is wholly different than that of her Twitter-obsessed, limelight-hogging husband namely President Donald Trump.

Melania has a separate bedroom in the White House. Her rambling, exclusive bedroom is on a floor different from that of the president. She has charted a course as first lady that is substantially different from previous first ladies like Laura Bush, Michelle Obama and Jackie Kennedy.

The first lady encouraged her husband to sack his Deputy National Security Adviser Mira Ricardel, who behaved in a peremptory manner with her during one of her Africa trips. Melania put out a public statement that read, “It is the position of the Office of the First Lady that (Ricardel) no longer deserves the honor of serving in this White House.”

“Melania Trump is never beholden to the Washington ways of broadcasting everything you’re thinking and doing,” Kellyanne Conway told CNN.
