Jill Biden’s ‘Love’ Jacket Sparks Comparisons To Melania Trump
First Lady Jill Biden wore a jacket with the word “love” written on the back for her meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, and his wife Carrie Johnson in Cornwall, England.
Many speculate Biden was attempting to contrast with the jacket worn by former First Lady Melania Trump which said “I don’t really care, do u?” on her trip to a migration center in 2018. This fashion choice was heavily criticized and drew national attention. The trip’s main goal of the Bidens’ trip is to repair relations with the West in a post-Trump world.
The First Lady said she is simply “bringing love from America.” She is currently accompanying President Joe Biden on the first international trip of his presidency.
Traveling with President Biden in the UK, Jill Biden wore a jacket on Thursday that read “LOVE” on the back, an echo of Melania Trump’s “I really don’t care, do u?” jacket that she wore in 2018 to visit children separated from their parents at the border. https://t.co/ftDdJ27gT3 pic.twitter.com/IKNCTJpOOT
