Kansas Department Of Transportation Calls Trump A “Delusional Communist” On Twitter, Responsible Official Fired

A Kansas Department of Transportation official has been dismissed from the agency after calling President Donald Trump a “delusional Communist” in a since-deleted tweet.

“You’re a delusional Communist,” the agency’s south central Kansas Twitter account posted Sunday after the president blasted three Fox News anchors. “You know it’s Communist countries that try to control media, right?”

The tweet was deleted approximately two hours after it was published. Kansas’s GOP legislature criticized the tweet in a Facebook post.

“Governor [Laura] Kelly campaigned on bipartisanship,” the Kansas Republican Party wrote in the post, which included a screenshot of both tweets. “But she refuses to negotiate with Republicans in the Legislature, and her staff is too busy attacking President Trump on the Kansas taxpayer’s dime.”

SLIDESHOW: TOP DEMOCRATS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT IN 2020

“Were Were @FoxNews weekend anchors, @ArthelNeville and @LelandVittert, trained by CNN prior to their ratings collapse? In any event, that’s where they should be working, along with their lowest rated anchor, Shepard Smith!” Trump tweeted on Sunday.

Acting KDTO Secretary Julie Lorenz denounced the response to Trump’s tweet in a statement.

“The tweet has been deleted from the KDOT account as it does not reflect the views of KDOT or the administration and was an unacceptable use of state communication tools,” said Lorenz told The Wichita Eagle.

Trump’s tweet about the trio of Fox News anchors was one among many that he posted this weekend that drew further criticism from both sides of the political aisle. The president also went after late Sen. John McCainSaturday Night Live, and Democrats who rebuked him for his response to the terror attacks in New Zealand.
