House Democrats are wasting no time in trying to impeach President Donald Trump, and they want the process complete before Thanksgiving.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) privately told Democrats that she planned to move the impeachment probe “expeditiously,” while the news that Trump pressed the president of Ukraine to investigate potential 2020 Democratic candidate Joe Biden is still fresh and public interest is high.
However, Pelosi told reporters Thursday that “the facts will determine the timeline.”
Pelosi’s strategy appears to be focusing on the Ukraine probe led by the House Intelligence Committee and chairman Adam Schiff (D-California). Schiff raised the alarm that the acting Director of National Security had ignored a Sept. 17 congressional subpoena to turn over an “urgent” whistleblower complaint regarding a conversation between Trump and the president of Ukraine.

“We have to act with unity,” Rep. Daniel Kildee (D-Michigan) told the Washington Post. “In terms of how we proceed on the ultimate question of impeachment, this is not only the strongest case, but it is the one Democrats are united around.”
