Rep. Justin Amash (I-Michigan)
Rep. Justin Amash (R-Michigan) on Saturday became the first Republican congressman to call for President Donald Trump‘s impeachment following the revelations from Special Counsel Robert Mueller‘s report.
Amash, a 39-year-old with libertarian tendencies, said on Twitter that Trump’s conduct as described in Mueller’s full report on the investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election was impeachable. Amash also blasted Attorney General William Barr, accusing him of having “deliberately misrepresented” Mueller’s conclusions.

“Impeachment, which is a special form of indictment, does not even require probable cause that a crime (e.g., obstruction of justice) has been committed,” Amash wrote in one tweet. “It simply requires a finding that an official has engaged in careless, abusive, corrupt or otherwise dishonorable conduct.”
