A new Quinnipiac survey released this week shows Joe Biden, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) and several other 2020 Democratic presidential candidates beating President Donald Trump in Florida.
The poll comes as Trump launched his 2020 re-election campaign in Orlando on Tuesday. It shows former Vice President Biden leading Trump 50% to 41% in the Sunshine State. This includes 7% of GOP voters and 54% of Independents in the state who stated they would back the Democratic former Senator over the current president.
Sanders holds a smaller lead over Trump: 48% to 42%, while Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Massachusetts) has a four-point lead (47% vs. 43%) over the president.
Meanwhile, South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg, former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas) and Sen. Kamala Harris (D-California) all hold a 1-percentage-point lead over Trump in Florida.

SLIDESHOW: TOP DEMOCRATS RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT IN 2020
The Quinnpiac survey also gaged the level of interest Florida voters had in the 2020 election. It revealed 59% of Democrats and 51% of Republicans are closely following the 2020 campaign cycle.
The poll also shows Biden remains the favorite 2020 contender among moderate Democratic voters (51%) and voters above the age of 50 (52%).
Trump’s approval rating is still at around 41%, according to the Quinnipiac poll, which also showed that just a third of voters — including two-thirds of Democrats — wish for lawmakers to start impeachment proceedings against Trump.
Republican Party Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel noted how Quinnipiac polls published more than a year before the 2016 election predicted Hillary Clinton would beat Trump by a comfortable, double-digit margin.
