Trumps Says Talking With William Barr On Investigating Joe Biden “Would Be Appropriate”

President Donald Trump said “it would be appropriate” to speak to Attorney General William Barr about opening an investigation into political rival Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden.

Trump answered a few questions on Friday concerning his support for his personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani’s planned trip to the Ukraine to urge the president-elect Volodymyr Zelensky to open an investigation into the former vice president and his son.

Giuliani announced Friday night on Fox News that he had decided to call off the trip. “I think I’m walking into a group of people that are enemies of the president,” he said. He later added that he did not think the trip would be very effective.

This comes just a week after Trump suggested to Fox News’ Sean Hannity that an investigation should be opened by Barr relating to Ukraine and a week after an intense hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee, where Barr said he “didn’t know” if Trump ever “suggested” he open an investigation into anyone specific.

“Certainly, it would be an appropriate thing to speak about. But I have not done that as of yet,” Trump told Politico of talking to Barr about investigating Joe Biden and his son “It could be a very big situation.”

Giuliani reportedly expressed interest in meeting with Chief Prosecutor Yuriy Lutsenko on his trip, too. Lutsenko has recently been looking into Joe Biden’s role in pushing out a corrupt former Ukrainian Chief Prosecutor. The prosecutor may have been investigating a Ukrainian gas company that Hunter Biden was a board member of.

As of yet there is no evidence pointing to any wrong-doing by the former vice president or his son.
