Trump Says Presidency Is Being “Stolen” From Him In Misspelled Tweet

President Donald Trump went on an angry Twitter tirade over the weekend, claiming his presidency is being “stolen” from him by Special Counsel Robert Mueller‘s Russian interference investigation.

This marks a stark contrast with Trump’s earlier comments about Mueller’s probe, when the key findings where released in late March. At the time, the president said he received “complete exoneration” from the special counsel, even though Mueller hadn’t explicitly cleared him of obstruction of justice.

“After spending more than $35,000,000 over a two year period, interviewing 500 people, using 18 Trump Hating Angry Democrats & 49 FBI Agents – all culminating in a more than 400 page Report showing NO COLLUSION – why would the Democrats in Congress now need Robert Mueller to testify…….,” Trump tweeted Sunday.

“Are they looking for a redo because they hated seeing the strong NO COLLUSION conclusion? There was no crime, except on the other side (incredibly not covered in the Report), and NO OBSTRUCTION. Bob Mueller should not testify. No redos for the Dems!”

Trump then complained about how his presidency was being “stollen” from him, and ultimately fixed his spelling error.

“Despite the tremendous success that I have had as President, including perhaps the greatest ECONOMY and most successful first two years of any President in history, they have stollen two years of my (our) Presidency (Collusion Delusion) that we will never be able to get back…..” he wrote.

Congressional Democrats have pushed to hold Attorney General William Barr in contempt for refusing to appear for a hearing on the Mueller report, which he stands accused of mischaracterizing. Democrats have also called for the special counsel to testify in the coming weeks. Barr has said he has no issue with Mueller testifying before Congress, while Trump is attempting to stop Mueller from doing so.
