Rep. Devin Nunes (R–California) has sued CNN for a whopping $435 million over a damning report that he had met the former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin in Vienna last December. Nunes disputed the report, telling the right-wing news site Breitbart that the story was “demonstrably false and scandalous.”

Nunes has stated in his lawsuit that CNN has to be held to account for its “hit piece” on him. “CNN is the mother of fake news,” the lawsuit says. “It is the least trusted name. CNN is eroding the fabric of America, proselytizing, sowing distrust and disharmony.” The lawsuit has not yet elicited a response from CNN.
