Left-wing MSNBC host Rachel Maddow has linked Luigi Mangione, who was charged with the murder of United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson, with President-elect Donald Trump‘s next administration.

Maddow found a connection between Mangione’s support for the Unabomber to statements by Blake Masters, who is reportedly being considered to head the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives(ATF).

Mangione has been charged with first-degree murder. He previously wrote a review on Goodreads for Industrial Society and Its Future by Theodore Kaczynski, the so-called Unabomber terrorist.

The review states: “It’s easy to quickly and thoughtless write this off as the manifesto of a lunatic, in order to avoid facing some of the uncomfortable problems it identifies. But it’s simply impossible to ignore how prescient many of his predictions and modern society turned out.”

Masters also has expressed admiration for Kaczynski, who sent bombs to corporate executives to protest corporate power.

Mangione was arrested earlier this week after being recognized at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania. He has been charged with weapons, forgery and murder. When he was arrested, a handwritten manifesto was found on him, but it has yet to be fully released to the public.

Mangione’s family released a statement saying, “Our family is shocked and devasted by Luigi’s arrest. We offer our prayers to the family of Brian Thompson, and we ask people to pray for all involved. We are devastated by this news.”
