Midterm Elections 2018: Fox News Hosts Sean Hannity, Jeanine Pirro Join Donald Trump At Missouri Rally [VIDEO]

Fox News hosts Jeanine Pirro and Sean Hannity joined President Donald Trump onstage at a rally in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, on Monday evening, his final campaign event before Tuesday’s midterm elections.

Hannity and Pirro praised Trump — an avid supporter of Fox News — and encouraged the crowd to vote Republican on Tuesday. The rally marked one of the few rare instances where cable news personalities joined political candidates or elected officials at a public event. People on social media quickly started comparing Trump’s stunt to authoritarian regimes that use state-run media to garner support.

“I have a few people that are right out here, and they’re very special,” Trump said, teasing their appearances. “They’ve done an incredible job for us. They’ve been with us from the beginning, also.”

Earlier on Monday, Hannity had tweeted that he would not be joining Trump onstage for any rallies ahead of the midterms. The Hannity host said he would only do a live show from Missouri.

Hannity also slammed the other media outlets attending Monday’s rally by calling them “fake news.”

Trump and Hannity briefly spoke to each other before the rally during the latter’s 9 p.m. show.

While walking onstage in Cape Girardeau on Monday, Trump high-fived Bill Shine, the White House communications director who is a former Fox News executive.

Pirro also urged voters to make their voices heard, after Trump introduced her as “Justice Jeanine.”

“If you like the America that [Trump] is making now, you’ve got to make sure you get out there tomorrow if you haven’t voted yet,” said Pirro, host of Justice with Jeanine.

Other members of the Trump administration who appeared at campaign rallies in Missouri and in other states this week included Ivanka Trump, Kellyanne Conway and Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
