Mark Judge, the former high school classmate of Brett Kavanaugh, has agreed to cooperate with the FBI and other federal authorities in an investigation into sexual assault allegations against the Supreme Court nominee.
Judge’s attorney reportedly said his client “will answer any and all questions posed to him” by the FBI “or any law enforcement agency” as part of the inquiry.

Republican Senators said Friday afternoon they would allow up to a week for the investigation to be held before they held the final vote to confirm Kavanaugh to the nation’s highest court. After initially saying Friday morning he would vote to approve Kavanaugh, Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake said he believed a probe was necessary before the final vote. Shortly afterwards, Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska — a GOP moderate and another key swing vote — announced she also supported delaying the vote for Kavanaugh.

SLIDESHOW: DONALD TRUMP’S 30 CRAZIEST TWEETS
Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) attempted on Friday to pass a measure to subpoena Judge, but Republicans swiftly voted down this proposal. Judge has claimed he has no memory of the incident Dr. Christine Blasey Ford testified about on Thursday: that Kavanaugh allegedly assaulted her at a high school party in 1982 and that Judge was in the room where it happened. Judge noted this in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee in response to Ford’s testimony. He also admitted in this letter to being a recovering alcoholic and cancer survivor.
On Thursday, Kavanaugh refused multiple times to explicitly say he was in favor of the FBI conducting an investigation into Ford’s allegations, even after several Democratic senators asked the Supreme Court nominee about this.

In his letter to the Committee — addressed to Chairman Chuck Grassley and top-ranking Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein — Judge also denied having ever “spiked” anyone’s drink to get them drunk or having been involved in any gang rapes as alleged by Julie Swetnick, one of four women to accuse Kavanaugh of sexual assault.
