H.R. McMaster May Be Replaced As National Security Advisor

H.R. McMaster, the current national security advisor, will likely be replaced next month, five people told MSNBC.

McMaster has reportedly had an uneasy relationship with President Donald Trump, as he declared that Russia absolutely meddled in the 2016 presidential election while speaking at a forum in Germany, according to MSNBC.

Trump quickly fired back at McMaster’s comment, tweeting, “General McMaster forgot to say that the results of the 2016 election were not impacted or changed by the Russians and that the only Collusion was between Russia and Crooked H, the DNC and the Dems. Remember the Dirty Dossier, Uranium, Speeches, Emails and the Podesta Company!”

McMaster is the second national security advisor for Trump’s administration, having replaced Michael Flynn after Flynn stepped down when it came out that he lied to Vice President Mike Pence and other officials about his relationship with a Russian official. Flynn recently pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.

Officials told MSNBC that Stephen Biegun, the current vice president of international governmental affairs at Ford Motor Company who was on the National Security Council staff from 2001 to 2003, is the likely pick for Trump’s third national security advisor.

However, a Ford Motor Company spokesman told MSNBC that Biegun has no plans of leaving the company.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders refuted the claim that McMaster will be fired while speaking on Fox & Friends.

“Look, General McMaster’s not going anywhere,” Sanders said. “As the President said yesterday in the Oval Office to a number of people, he thinks he’s doing a great job and glad he’s here.”
