Ukrainian officials blasted Elon Musk following the billionaire CEO of Tesla’s proposal for “peace” with Russia.

He asked his followers to vote “yes” or “no” on a Twitter poll that included redoing the elections of the four annexed regions, leaving it to the vote to determine if Russia is allowed to stay. It also proposed making Crimea, which was annexed from Ukraine in 2014, a part of Russia. The following two points made sure the water supply to Crimea would be assured and that Ukraine would stay neutral.

The majority, with 59.1%, voted “no” to Musk’s suggestion while 40.9% voted “yes.” Musk seemed to think the results were a scam.

“Biggest bot attack I’ve ever seen,” he wrote.

Musk’s proposal was a departure from Ukraine and the West’s view that Crimea and the annexed territories belong to Ukraine. Ukraine has vowed to gain the land back.

Ukrainian officials, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, were quick to fire back.

“Which @elonmusk do you like more?” Zelensky responded in a poll of his own.

Voters were able to choose between the first option, “One who supports Ukraine,” and the second option, “One who supports Russia.”

Musk responded to Zelensky’s poll, “I still very much support Ukraine, but am convinced that massive escalation of the war will cause great harm to Ukraine and possibly the world.”

The Kremlin chimed in as well, supporting Musk’s proposed solution.

“It’s very positive that such a person as Elon Musk is trying to look for a peaceful settlement,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov responded. “As for the referendums, people have voiced their opinion and there could be nothing else.”
