On Friday, the White House issued a statement, expressing disapproval of tech mogul Elon Musk‘s response to an antisemitic social media post and his assertion that it represented the “actual truth.”

In the statement, White House spokesman Andrew Bates said: “It is unacceptable to repeat the hideous lie behind the most fatal act of Antisemitism in American history at any time, let alone one month after the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust.”

Musk seemed to show support for the antisemitic post, which was a response to a user on X (formerly Twitter) who shared their worries about the issue of antisemitic sentiments.

The post that Musk endorsed said: “Jewish [communities] have been pushing the exact kind of dialectical hatred against whites that they claim to want people to stop using against them.”

“You have said the actual truth,” Musk wrote in response to the post.

Bates mentioned that the White House will continue denouncing the growing occurrence of antisemitism, which has increased following the conflict between Israel and Hamas. This ongoing conflict arose following the unexpected attack on Israel on October 7.

Bates expressed strong condemnation for the promotion of antisemitic and racist hate, stating that it goes against American values. He referenced President Joe Biden‘s remarks on the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting and emphasized that the tragic event has resurfaced painful memories of antisemitism throughout history.

Bates assured that the Biden administration will persistently denounce antisemitism in all instances.
