Rep. Devin Nunes (R-California), the ranking Republican on the House of Intelligence Committee,  will most likely face an ethics investigation after secret meetings between himself and former Ukrainian prosecutor Victor Shokin were revealed. Nunes spent about $57,000 of government funds on flights for his staff and himself to scope out information on the Biden family.

Nunes has led the GOP defense of Trump during the impeachment hearings. Without evidence, Nunes has accused Ukraine to interfering in the 2016 election. The U.S. intelligence community has ruled conclusively that it was Russia which interfered in the election and that a Russian disinformation campaign has tried to frame Ukraine for its activities.

Lev Parnas, who worked with Trump lawyer Rudolph Giuliani, arranged meetings between Nunes and Shokin, his lawyers told House investigators last week. Although Parnas does not have first-hand knowledge of what was said during the meetings, Parnas said he is willing to testify to Nunes’s involvement with the Ukraine scandal.
