Conservative televangelist Pat Robertson has spoken out against police brutality.
In a video statement, Robertson declared that he is “pro-police” and that the public needs “the police [and] their service… they do a good job.”
Robertson did not shy away from calling out violence against black Americans, stating that the police should “stop this onslaught… they cannot do this.”
Robertson even referenced a recent incident involving Lieutenant Caron Nazario, a black and Latino man who was pepper sprayed and pushed to the ground by Virginia police last December due to a missing license plate. “The police in Virginia picked up a lieutenant in the army and began to give him trouble… stop this,” he said.

The conservative commentator also referenced the trial of Derek Chauvin, the police officer who was involved in the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis last May, saying that “[they should] put him in jail.”
“It’s terrible what’s happening,” he said. “[Police] open their eyes… they’ve got to stop this stuff.”
