Attacker Of Minnesota Rep. Angie Craig Arrested In D.C.
Rep. Angie Craig (D-Minnesota) was attacked Thursday morning in the elevator of her Washington D.C. Apartment building, according to her chief of staff.
Kendrick Hamlin has been accused of punching the congresswoman and grabbing her neck. The attack does not appear to be politically motivated at this time.
Craig reportedly fought back by throwing hot coffee at the assailant. Craig suffered bruising from the attack but is otherwise okay, according to her Chief of Staff Nick Coe.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-New York) expressed shock at the attack, saying that the caucus was “horrified” by the assault.
