Donald Trump’s Approval Rating Reaches Record-High 47% In New Poll Amid Strong Economy
President Donald Trump may still be facing several controversies, but his approval rating has reached a new high.
According to a Washington Post-ABC News poll released this week, 47 percent of registered voters say they approve of Trump, while 50 percent disapprove. In April, 42 percent of registered voters approved of the president.
Among voting-age Americans, Trump has 44 percent support, 5 percent higher than his approval in April. In total, 53 percent of voting-eligible people said they disapprove of the president.
The latest survey of Trump’s favorability comes just weeks after he officially launched his 2020 re-election bid at a campaign rally in Florida. The economy has also displayed signs of significant growth in recent months, with the most recent reports showing 224,000 jobs were added in June, the highest monthly increase since January. This figure was also well above the market expectation that predicted around 165,000 new jobs would be created in June. The unemployment rate edged slightly higher at 3.7% and the labor force participation rate rose.
