Globally, there have been just over 14,000 deaths from COVID-19, which is about a 4% mortality rate. As of March 22 in the U.S., there have been 420 deaths linked to the virus. New York and Washington account for the majority of the deaths, with each state respectively reporting 114 and 95 fatalities.
