Young people are not immune to the novel coronavirus. Not only is that demographic more likely to pass it on to someone in an at-risk group, such as the elderly, a vast percentage of coronavirus patients currently hospitalized are young adults.

A recent report from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention C.D.C. showed that 20% of the coronavirus patients currently hospitalized and 12% of the intensive care patients were between the ages of 20 and 44.

Are Young People Immune From Coronavirus?

“Although older people are hardest hit, younger people are not spared,” World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said during an online news conference. “I have a message for young people: You are not invincible, this virus could put you in hospital for weeks or even kill you. Even if you don’t get sick the choices you make about where you go could be the difference between life and death for someone else.”
