In June, 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris (D-California), hit 20% in a Quinnipiac University poll. After the second Democratic debate, she was at 12%.The most recent poll shows Harris at an all-time low of 7% and 5% ina CNN poll. This drop could be a result of her uneven second debate performance, even though her first debate was considered strong.
Former Vice President Joe Biden has remained the top Democrat for the entire campaign. In the last ten months, he has had an average of about 30%. According to CNN, he is currently under that number and is now at 29% and 32% according to Quinnipiac University.
Quinnipiac has Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Massachusetts) at 20%, which would be the second spot whereas CNN has her at 14% putting her in third, with no movement after the second debate. Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-Vermont) is at 15% according to CNN and 14% in the Quinnipiac poll. If the averages are taken from all three it would put Biden in first, Warren in second and Sanders in third.
Julián Castro (D-Texas) recently qualified for the third debate in September. Polls have him with around 2%. He is added to the list of others who have already qualified: Sen. Cory Booker (D-New Jersey), Mayor Pete Buttigieg (D-Indiana), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minnesota), Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas), as well as, Biden, Warren, Harris, and Sanders.
