Sen. Kamala Harris (D-California) informed campaign staff and Democratic officials on Dec. 3 that she is dropping out of the race. 

Harris’ decision to drop out of the 2020 presidential election comes amid months of falling poll numbers after a strong start. She announced her decision to supporters in an email stating that her campaign lacked the financial resources to continue with the bid.
