Winery Tied To Devin Nunes Sued For Yacht Party Allegedly With Cocaine And Prostitutes -Report

A California winery that counts Republican Rep. Devin Nunes among its investors was sued in 2016 over a charity yacht party that allegedly included prostitutes and cocaine, according to a new report.

Devin Nunes-Linked California Winery Sued In 2016

The Fresno Bee reported that Alene Anase, a former employee of Alpha Omega Winery, filed a lawsuit against the company after she was asked to work as a server during a 2015 party on the yacht in San Francisco Bay.

None of the winery’s owners or investors reportedly attended the party. The lawsuit said Anase believed some of the alleged paid sex workers may have been underage. The suit read:

“Plaintiff realized that the men had brought prostitutes, hard liquor, and what appeared to be cocaine onto the Yacht. Plaintiff was extremely disturbed by the presence of the prostitutes, especially because it appeared that some of the girls were too young to consent to sexual activity.”

The Bee said Anase’s suit was ultimately settled for an undisclosed sum. The lawsuit included six allegations, including sexual harassment and emotional distress. According to the suit, Anase also ended up receiving therapy for psychological trauma, and took medication for depression.

Robin Baggett — the owner of the winery — is a friend of Nunes, according to the Bee. It is unknown exactly how much Nunes invested in Alpha Omega, although estimates place the amount between $50,000 and $100,000.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Nunes also owns a stake in another winery, Phase 2 Cellars.

California Congressman Nunes, 44, is the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, one of the many groups that has been investigating potential Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Thus far, Nunes has repeatedly said his committee has found no evidence that President Donald Trump‘s campaign staff colluded with the Russians in any way before the election, and Trump has partly used those claims to dismiss the probe as a “witch hunt.” Several other intelligence organizations, on the other hand, have discovered evidence of collusion.

In February, Nunes released a four-page memo alleging an FBI conspiracy against Trump. Nunes was one of several lawmakers present at a meeting in Washington on Thursday to discuss an alleged “informant” in the Russia probe against Trump.
