On the same day President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive for the coronavirus, the White House quietly informed a veteran group that they may have been exposed to COVID-19 during an event that honored fallen service members.
The warning was given in early October following the service honor event in late September. It is the first known outreach to visitors after several members of the Trump administration tested positive.
Photos released from the event showed few mask-wearers and minimal social distancing.
The service event came right after the White House threw a celebration for Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett. The event is speculated to be an early source of the White House outbreak.

The Greatest Generations Foundation’s CEO Timothy David commented, “The White House has been in daily contact with TGGF for contact-tracing purposes after alerting us on 10/2 of a possible COVID-positive person at the event so we could know there was a potential our attendees were exposed.”
