Trump Demanded Walter Reed Doctors & Staff To Sign Non-Disclosure Agreements

President Donald Trump asked medical professionals at the Walter Reed Medical Center to sign non-disclosure agreements in 2019.

Not only were physicians required to sign the NDAs, but any non-medical staff members were asked to follow suit as well.

At least two doctors refused to sign the agreements and were not allowed to be involved in the president’s care.

It is unknown if doctors involved in Trump’s recent coronavirus treatment were subject to the same conditions.

White House Press Secretary Judd Deere responded to the report, saying, “any physician caring for the President is bound by patient-physician confidentiality guaranteed under HIPAA, and I’m not going to comment on internal procedures beyond that” when asked about the matter.

With the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act that ensures medical service providers are unable to disclose personal health information without consent, it remains unclear why the president took the extra length to make his medical staff sign NDAs.
