Rebekah Jones, the controversial whistleblower who alleged that Florida health officials asked her to “manipulate” COVID-19 case numbers, has officially filed to run for Congress.

She will work to unseat scandal-plagued Rep. Matt Gaetz (R) in District 1, who is facing a federal investigation over whether he had sex with an underage girl.

Back in June, Jones announced her intent to run. But she only officially filed her candidacy paperwork on September 29.

After being fired by the Florida Department of Health for insubordination in 2020, Jones’s home was raided by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, which Jones herself documented with video proof on Twitter. Her account has since been suspended.
