Weeks after the testimony before the House, Attorney General William Barr accused media of protecting a “narrative” about this summer’s anti-racism protests and lashed out at the Black Lives Matter protesters, calling them “Bolsheviks.”
In an interview with Fox News’ Mark Levin on Sunday, while discussing the protests after George Floyd’s death, Barr accused protestors and liberals generally of “tearing down the system” and called their tactics tactics “fascistic.”
“They are a revolutionary group that is interested in some form of socialism, communism,” Barr said referring to the Black Lives Matter movement. “They’re essentially Bolsheviks.”

Barr also accused the Black Lives Matter movement demonstrators of working together with ANTIFA to overthrow President Donald Trump. He called ANTIFA a “new form of guerrilla warfare,” and said that the “highly organized” group encourage protesters for “violent missions.”
“What they do is, they are essentially shielding themselves or shrouding themselves in First Amendment activity,” Barr said. “They hijack these demonstrations and they provoke violence. And they have various tiers of people from the sort of top provocateurs down to people who are their minions and run the violent missions.”
“The left wants power because that is essentially their state of grace in their secular religion,” he said. “They want to run people’s lives so they can design utopia for all of us and that’s what turns them on. And it’s the lust for power and they weren’t expecting Trump’s victory and it outrages them.”
Barr also criticized Democrats for their views and accused them of partisan politics, claiming the party is “withdrawn and pulled away from the umbrella of classical liberal values that have undergirded our society since our founding.”
“They’re not interested in compromise, they’re not interested in dialectic exchange of views. They’re interested in total victory,” Barr said. “It’s a secular religion. It’s a substitute for a religion.”
Barr then added that he believed that “all Black lives matter” and said the movement should be about “providing economic opportunity, which this administration has done.”
