As more former allies of Donald Trump continue to break away from the loyal ranks of the former President, Mike Pence’s aides have slowly been coming forward as well. Recently, the January 6 commission interviewed two of the former vice president’s aides, Marc Short and Greg Jacob.
The commission had both men testify before a federal grand jury to give their accounts of the events during the Capitol riot.
Short was seen by members of the press on the same day Trump loyalist Steve Bannon was found guilty on charges of contempt of Congress.
The January 6 Commission has previously interviewed both men for their critical perspectives on the days leading up to January 6. Short and Jacob were both present during pivotal meetings with Trump during the run up to the insurrection.

The men were reported to be in the same room when Trump DOJ lawyer John Eastman related conspiracy theories to the former president.
Eastman has also been accused of attempting to influence local election boards to overturn Joe Biden‘s victory.
Jacob, in particular, was crucial in providing incriminating evidence about Eastman. Jacobs’ notes state that his actions were illegal and unethical.
In past testimony, Short has also been vocal about Pence’s attempts to educate Trump on the VP’s lack of power in overturning the election.
