Tulsi Gabbard Sends Cease & Desist Letter To Mitt Romney After ‘Treason’ Accusation

Former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D) issued a cease and desist letter to Sen. Mitt Romney (R- Utah) in response to his tweets accusing her of treason.

“When powerful, influential people make baseless accusations of treason, a crime punishable by death, in order to intimidate, silence and censor those who speak the truth, it has a chilling effect on our democracy,” Gabbard said.

“This cannot go unchecked,” the former representative added.

In March, Romney wrote in a tweet, “Tulsi Gabbard is parroting false Russian propaganda. Her treasonous lies may well cost lives,” after Gabbard reported that the U.S. funded bio labs in Ukraine.

Her claims were deemed “baseless” by a New York Times fact check and adamantly denied by the White House.

Gabbard also sent a cease and desist letter to sports and political commentator Keith Olbermann, who called Gabbard a “Russian asset.”

Shortly after Romney’s tweet, Gabbard fired back on Twitter calling for the senator to apologize and resign from the Senate.
