Trump To Visit U.S.-Mexican Border To Highlight Migrant Issues

Former President Donald Trump has announced he will be visiting the Texas-Mexico border on June 30 with Gov. Greg Abbott (R-Texas), in response to the growing number of immigrants entering the U.S.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has said that more than 180,000 illegal immigrants were stopped at the border in May, the first time that number had been exceeded in a single month since April 2000.

This news comes after Abbott’s announcement that he will be investing more material and money into the Texas border. He will be accepting donations and also crowdfunding the effort, all in the hopes of lessening the stream of immigrants entering Texas.

In a statement, Trump said: “The Biden Administration inherited from me the strongest, safest, and most secure border in U.S history and in mere weeks they turned it into the single worst border crisis in U.S history. It’s an unmitigated disaster zone. Biden and Harris have handed control of our border over to cartels, criminals, and coyotes. Drug dealers, MS-13 gang members, human smugglers, sex traffickers, and the criminal elements of the world now have free reign. Hospitals and schools are getting crushed and public health is being sacrificed all in service of a radical left anti-borders agenda.”

President Joe Biden reversed many Trump-era immigration policies when he entered office in January. Many Republicans blame the recent rise in illegal immigration on him.
