Former President Donald Trump denounced the Senate’s vote to advance the $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill on Saturday, calling it a “disgrace” and urging Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) to keep pushing amendments.

“Joe Biden’s infrastructure bill is a disgrace,” Trump wrote on the Save America PAC website. “If Mitch McConnell was smart, which we’ve seen no evidence of, he would use the debt ceiling card to negotiate a good infrastructure package.”

Trump, who has been regularly releasing his message via Save America PAC, after he was banned from his social media platforms, pushed Republican senators to make sure they “think twice before you approve this terrible deal.”

“Whether it’s the House or the Senate, think twice before you approve this terrible deal,” Trump said. “Republicans should wait until after the Midterms when they will gain all the strength they’ll need to make a good deal, but remember, you already have the card, it’s called the debt ceiling, which the Democrats threatened us with constantly.”

“It is a gift to the Democrat Party, compliments of Mitch McConnell and some RINOs, who have no idea what they are doing,” the former President added.

In his message, Trump also claimed that the Republicans shouldn’t agree to this bill as the Democrats will benefit from it in the upcoming elections. He also threatened that Republican senators who vote for the bill will not get his endorsement.

“Joe Biden’s infrastructure bill will be used against the Republican Party in the upcoming elections in 2022 and 2024,” Trump said. “It will be very hard for me to endorse anyone foolish enough to vote in favor of this deal.”

Despite the effort from the former president, the Senate advanced the bipartisan bill Saturday, clearing a significant hurdle to final passage of the bill this weekend.
