At a campaign rally in Waterford Township, Michigan on Friday, President Donald Trump mocked Fox News host Laura Ingraham for wearing a mask while attending his event. Spotting Ingraham in the crowd, Trump announced, “I can’t recognize you. Is that a mask? No way, are you wearing a mask? I’ve never seen her in a mask. Look at you. Laura, she’s being very politically correct. Whoa!”
Despite wearing a mask himself sometimes, the president continues to criticize people who wear masks for making a political statement. And at this same rally, Trump also condemned doctors for making up COVID-19 deaths to increase incomes. These remarks come at a time when the U.S. has just surpassed 230,000 national deaths and hit a global all-time high for COVID-19 cases confirmed in a single 24-hour period, reporting just over 100,000 cases on Friday.
