President Donald Trump mocked teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg on Twitter after she berated world leaders for not doing enough to protect the environment.

“She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see!” Trump tweeted late Monday night in response to the emotional video of the Swedish activist United Nation’s Climate Action Summit speech.

Trump shared a video featuring the 16-year-old Thunberg in an extreme state of distress. The teenager appeared tormented and heart-broken – holding back tears as she rebuked world leaders for failing to protect the environment.

Her voice quivered in rage as she expressed her opinion that the global elite has misled the public with broken promises about environmental regulation and protection, “You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words.”

“People are suffering, people are dying, entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth,” Thunberg said. After the U.N. General Assembly, Thunberg said, “The eyes of all future generations are upon you, If you choose to fail us, I say we will never forgive you.”

Even though the U.S. is planning on leaving the Paris Climate Agreement, Trump made an impromptu 14-minute appearance at a climate change meeting. Trump scheduled an alternative U.N. administration priority – a religious freedom forum. Trump remained silent for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and out-going German Chancellor Angela Merkel‘s presentations then left to attend the religious freedom forum.

Trump shared the video after photos of Thunberg glaring at him entering the U.N. surfaced.
