President Donald Trump encouraged his supporters to counter-protest at the White House after the George Floyd demonstrators clashed with police on Friday.
As the protests gained power across the country, Trump called out local leaders in his tweets to implement tougher measures against the protesting crowds, threatening to use the U.S. military to gain the “unlimited power.”
On Saturday, Trump praised the work of Secret Services, saying they have handled the protesters “easily.” He then called for his supporters to come rally at the White House: “Tonight, I understand, is MAGA NIGHT AT THE WHITE HOUSE???”
In response to Trump’s tweets, Washington, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser called the president a “scared man” in her tweets.
