Trump Economic Advisor Stephen Moore Calls President’s Debate Performance ‘Crappy’
One of President Donald Trump‘s senior economic advisors, Stephen Moore, was caught in a video calling Trump’s debate performance “crappy.”
Moore was referring to the president’s debate against Joe Biden last month, and he also stated that he was “awful” in his debate performance against Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016.
The video was taken on October 2 at the Election Protection Summit in Washington. The footage was obtained by a Wisconsin watchdog group Documented before being published by Huff Post.
“It was not a great performance, by Trump; in fact, I thought it was a pretty crappy performance,” Moore says to a crowd in the video. Although Moore continued to critique Trump’s past debating strategies, even saying he was “so bad… just awful” in his debate against Clinton, he eventually had some hopeful remarks for the president.

He said that although Trump’s performance against Clinton initially was not great, he “rallied” and “clobbered” her in the next one, and that, “God willing… (that’s) what’s going to happen” in Biden and Trump’s next debate.
Biden and Trump were scheduled to debate on October 15, but after Trump contracted COVID-19 and refused to take part in a virtual debate rather than in-person, the debate was canceled. The final standoff between the two will be October 22.
