President Donald Trump continued his threats to permanently halt all U.S. funding for the World Health Organization (WHO).

This week, Trump hammered the agency’s sluggish response time to the virus, claiming that the country’s initial slow action exacerbated the global pandemic.

The president said that the WHO “ignored credible reports of the virus” and fell victim to the ruling Communist Party of China’s influence.

He alleged that the organization has shown a pro-China bias and that it had knowingly promoted Chinese disinformation.

On April 15, Trump temporarily froze all U.S. funding to the organization and launched an investigation into the group’s internal operations. Critics say that Trump is deflecting his own administration’s responsibility for nearly 100,000 U.S. deaths.
