President Donald Trump‘s Mar-a-Lago club, which hosted a summit with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe charged the U.S. government $3 for every glass of water served during the summit.
In addition to the tap water charges, Mar-a-Lago also requested $13,700 for guest rooms, $16,5000 for food and wine and $6,000 for floral arrangements, all during the summit with Abe. Trump’s use of personal properties for government functions has drawn rebukes from ethics experts.
According to The Washington Post, the U.S. government has made over $2.5 million in payments to Trump’s properties since he has been in office.
