President Donald Trump took to Twitter on Wednesday to blast House Democrats for their ongoing impeachment inquiry, calling their oversight attempts “bulls—.”
“The Do Nothing Democrats should be focused on building up our Country, not wasting everyone’s time and energy on BULLS—,” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning before boasting about the wide margin of his Electoral College victory. “Get a better candidate next time, you’ll need it!”
Following Trump’s tweet, CNN uncensored Trump’s use of an expletive for its banners and headlines to report the post, marking the first time the network loosened its restrictions on foul language.

The president’s post came moments after House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-California) and Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) cautioned the White House during a news conference that it could face severe consequences if it continued to resist lawmakers’ subpoenas as part of their investigation. Trump has directly insulted Democratic House leaders, like Pelosi, Schiff and House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerry Nadler (D-New York) for their requests for documents and witnesses following a whistleblower’s complaint about his July 25 phone call with Ukraine’s leader. The president called Schiff “shifty” and a “lowlife” and questioned whether he should be charged with treason. Trump has also repeatedly called Democrats’ many probes into him and his administration a “coup.”
Trump’s attack also came as Finnish President Sauli Niinistö visited the White House on Wednesday. During an afternoon press conference with Niinisto, Trump called Democrats’ impeachment inquiry “a fraudulent crime on the American people.”
