Trump Breaks Tweeting Record In 24-Hour Period: 142!

As the seven impeachment managers delivered their opening arguments in the Senate trial Wednesday, President Donald Trump set a new record for the highest number of presidential tweets within a 24-hour period.

The commander-in-chief, who had been overseas in Switzerland attending an economic summit, let loose a record-breaking 142 tweets and replies within one day — surpassing his previous record of 123 Twitter posts within the same period.

Half the world away from the U.S., in Davos, Switzerland, just 50 seconds after the clock struck midnight, the president erupted. Trump began to post on the social media platform feverishly. One tweet and reply after another. Blasting House Democrats, impeachment managers and any individual or cause that happened upon.

Most of his social media platform shares to his fan-base of around 71 million Twitter followers were retweets – Trump retweeted messages, videos and images that Republican lawmakers and other supporters released into the media. The majority of his tweets on Wednesday revolved around discrediting the Democrats and the entire impeachment process.

Factba.se, a third-party service which compiles and analyzes data on Trump’s presidency, recorded the record-breaking numbers. The commander-in-chief’s all-time record is 161 posts in January 2015. He set the bar this high just one day prior to his presidential inauguration.

 

 

Prior to 1 a.m. ET, Trump had already tweeted 41 times, he then tweeted seven more times before 2 a.m, before taking a brief hiatus to rest up and prepare for his 7:30 a.m. social media blast.

He slowed his social media frenzy at around 6:18 p.m., with his last tweet, which was a retweet of Rep. Doug Collins‘ (R-Georgia) post that voiced criticism about House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff.
