Donald Trump
At a press conference on Wednesday, President Donald Trump responded to a black reporter’s question about racism and white nationalism by calling her question “racist” and moving on.
Yamiche Alcindor, a PBS Newshour correspondent, asked Trump of what he says to people who believe his rhetoric emboldens white supremacists. Alcindor also asked the president whether he is worried that Republicans would be viewed as supporting such racist groups and individuals. Trump called himself a “nationalist” last month at a rally in Houston.
“That’s such a racist question,” Trump responded. “I don’t believe it. What you just said is so insulting to me,” he added.

SLIDESHOW: DONALD TRUMP’S 30 CRAZIEST TWEETS
The president went on to cite his “poll numbers with African Americans,” whose approval rating of him he claimed earlier this week was at around 40% ahead of the midterm elections. Trump received only 8% of the black vote in 2016.
Trump took credit for the GOP’s victories in the House and Senate in Tuesday’s midterms, which saw Democrats retake control of the House of Representatives for the first time since 2010.
Alcindor is one of several White House correspondents Trump has attacked. On Wednesday, he also feuded with CNN’s Jim Acosta, who had his press pass revoked after the president became annoyed by his questions about immigration and the Russia investigation.
