Tara Reade, a former Senate aide, has accused former Vice President Joe Biden of secual assault in 1993. A spokesperson for Biden says the allegations are false and former Senate office staff members say they do not remember the incident happening.
Reade worked as a staff assistant in Biden’s Senate office. She told the New York Times that the then-senator pinned her against a wall and assaulted her inside the Senate building. One of Reade’s friends has come forward to confirm she had told them of the attack.
A spokesperson for Biden said the allegations were false. Several staff members employed at the same time as Reade said they were unfamiliar with similar behavior by Biden toward her or any other woman.
Reade is one of seven women who came forward who came forward last year to accuse Biden of inappropriate touching, kissing, hugging or other unwanted behavior.

Reade filed a report with the Washington, D.C., police on Thursday. She said she was the victim of a sexual assault in 1993. The report does not name Biden as the attacker, but she said the complaint was about him.
Reade claims she also filed a complaint with the Senate in 1993. But that paperwork has yet to be located.
Last year, Biden acknowledged the complaints against him, saying his intentions were well-natured and promised to be “more mindful and respectful of people’s personal space.”
