Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas Had $267,000 Loan Forgiven By Wealthy Friend

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has come under further scrutiny this week after Senate Finance Committee Chairman Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) revealed that documents given to the committee showed that Thomas profited from the majority or all of the $267,000 loan forgiven to buy his luxury RV by a wealthy friend.

Thomas is currently under scrutiny for allegedly concealing numerous gifts and vacations.

The justice took at least 38 vacations, 26 private jet flights, eight helicopter flights and dozens of sports passes without reporting them as required by law.

The trips included luxury vacations to Florida and Jamaica.

Following the recent reports of unethical behavior in the court, the Supreme Court is considering enforcing an ethics code for the first time in its history.

Justices have traditionally been bound by an honor system to report conflicts of interest. Thomas has been the most brazen justice in recent history in his unwillingness to abide by the informal code of conduct.
