Strip Club Charity Golf Tournament Set To Be Held At Trump Doral Club Cancelled After Charity Pulls Out

A strip-club-hosted charity golf tournament scheduled to take place at the Trump Doral golf course in Florida was canceled on Wednesday after the charity behind the event pulled out, not wanting to be involved with the strip club aspects of the event.

The Shadow Cabaret, a local strip club, was set to host the “Shadow All-Star Tournament,” at the Trump Organization’s resort on Saturday, where dancers would serve as “caddy girls” for the players. According to the Washington Post, the “Trump name and family crest are displayed prominently in the strip club’s advertising materials,” which boast an entrance fee of $450 per individual.

“The event was originally booked with the understanding that it would be raising money to support a local charity benefiting underprivileged children,” a spokesperson for the Trump Organization said in a statement Wednesday. “Now that the charity has removed its affiliation, the event will no longer be taking place at our property and all amounts paid will be refunded.”

The owner of the strip club, Emanuele Mancuso, said that the event was intended to “benefit a basketball-themed charity called Miami All Stars.”

The head of the charity, Carlos Alamilla, said that he was unaware of the strip club’s involvement in the event when he first agreed to become a beneficiary of it. He said he first learned of it when contacted by the Post for comment, and would have declined the original offer if he had known. Alamilla stated that once he learned of the true nature of the event he called Mancuso and asked for the charity to be removed from all promotional materials and that he would not be attending the event and wanted nothing to do with it.

“Due to the climate of everything surrounding our golf tournament Shadow Cabaret has decided to cancel this event,” Mancuso said in a statement. “We want to apologize to anyone that may have been offended by the tournament. Our intention was to raise money for a deserving local charity. Trump Doral, the hotel, has no association with our company outside of simply allowing us to rent the golf course.”
