On Monday, pornographic actress Stormy Daniels sued Donald Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen for defamation.

Daniels’ attorney Michael Avenatti filed the lawsuit in California, one day after the actress’s tell-all 60 Minutes interview about her 2006 affair with Trump.

Daniels revealed in the interview that she was threatened years after the affair to stay quiet.

Cohen said he used a limited liability company to pay Daniels $130,000 days before the 2016 election. Daniels has alleged Trump never signed the non-disclosure agreement about their affair.

Cohen has refuted Daniels’ allegations, although he confessed to paying her. Daniels is also claiming that the attorney’s denial of some of her claims constitutes s a defamatory statement.

“It was reasonably understood Mr. Cohen meant to convey that Ms. (Stephanie) Clifford is a liar,” the complaint reads, referencing Daniels’ real name.

Avenatti added, “Mr. Cohen made the statement knowing it was false or had serious doubts about the truth of the statements.”

As of Monday afternoon, Trump has not tweeted anything about Daniels, to the surprise of many. He and his administration, as well as his legal team, have continued to deny he had an affair with Daniels, however.
