Stephen Colbert Tears Into Melania Trump For “I Really Don’t Care, Do U” Jacket
On her way to visit a detention center for migrant children held at the southern border, First Lady Melania Trump donned a jacket with the phrase, “I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?” clearly written on the back.
While the purpose of the visit was to show the administration’s compassion for those separated and detained, CBS late night comedian Stephen Colbert claims her jacket begs to differ. “Today, on her way to show that she cares. Melania Trump wears a jacket that says ‘I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?’ says Colbert.
The host then pointed out the utter callousness of the fashion choice. “That’s what they settled on?” asked Colbert. “What was her first choice, a jacket that says ‘womp, womp?’”
“Womp, womp” is a reference to former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski’s unsympathetic response to hearing reports of a 10-year-old girl with Down syndrome being separated from her mother.

The one thing the host does agree with the administration on is that “there was no hidden message,” according to Trump’s spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham.
“Right. It’s definitely not hidden. It’s right on the back,” jokes Colbert. “And I’m gonna guess this is one message she did not steal from Michelle Obama,” he notedf, referencing Melania’s plagiarism of former First Lady Michelle Obama in her 2016 speech at the Republican National Convention.
The host then went on to ask what many were all thinking, how did anyone let her step outside wearing that?
