A team of doctors and researchers associated from Stanford University came together to sign a letter strongly criticizing Scott Atlas, a member of the White House’s coronavirus response team. Attorneys representing Atlas have demanded the retraction of the letter due to its “defaming” content.

The group aggressively questioned the qualifications of Atlas and his recommendations.

The letter stated, “Many of his opinions and statements run counter to established science and, by doing so, undermine public-health authorities and the credible science that guides effective public health policy.”

The doctors and researchers said they have the “moral and ethical responsibility” to refute Atlas’ optimistic claims on COVID-19. Atlas is seemingly convinced that “life will go back to normal.”
